Seed tomorrow with wise cultivating today!

Here we are, once again, standing in the shadows of one year and the foreshadowing of another.

In reflection, was 2010 what you wanted it to be? What did you do to create a year worth living? Are you a better version of yourself today than you were 365 days ago?

As I stand before the opportunity of becoming a better me, I remember a story I read years ago about the fruits of the harvest. It reminded me of how foolish it would be to stand before a bed of soil empty handed, with no exerted effort, saying, Give me a harvest.

With a smile (or a smirk) the soil would probably respond: Who is this clown that brings me a need and brings me no seed.

In 2011, may we whisper to the soil, I’ve got this seed and if I planted it, would you work with me? Then, plant, water, fertilize and weed. Cultivate your garden. Perhaps the soil will have a different response: No problem. Give me the seed. Go to sleep and I’ll work, even while you sleep.

2011 will offer each of us 365 full 24 hours to envision, create and become. May we tend them wisely.

Seed tomorrow with wise light and love today!

Our daughter, Amanda, posted a picture on Facebook and sent me an email to view it. As a visited the site I got a glimpse into “conversations” she was having with her friends about Christmas. Here are a few quotations they were sharing with each other:

So, may we bring light and love to this season by centering ourselves in peace, deciding to live in joy and engaging in meaningful conversation with those we encounter.

Seed tomorrow with wise trailblazing today!

I just finished the last minute preparations for a program tomorrow here at a Boston Copley hotel. So, I opened my Wednesday Wisdom file to post what I had written earlier in the day. However, I glanced over at a note pad sitting next to me and it read:

Leave a trail of genius.

That thought changed everything in the moment. So, I scratch my earlier work and share the message with you . . . what is the consistent trail you are leaving day by day, choice by choice?

Seed tomorrow with wise value today!

Today I found myself looking out of the window of a splendid old New Orleans hotel as I took a break from the team I’m working with and pondering a statement I overheard in our last session:

The major value in life is not what you get. The major value in life is what you become.

Ah, if I only remembered that on a daily basis . . . especially in the middle of a difficult situation, a tough choice, or a challenging decision. It’s worth remembering that standing solid in the values we hold dear and working our way through issues makes something of us.

Having some challenges today? Struggling with a difficult decision? Rejoice! With focus, discipline and wise choices, the experience might translate into creating something of value in you!
