Seed tomorrow with wise relationships today!

Today, I’m enroute to California to attend the National Speakers Association annual convention. Most of all, I look forward to having time with some of my dearest friends who will travel in from around the world. Although we typically are only physically present with each other once or twice a year, it’s always amazing how we immediately pick up where we left off. And, I’m equally intrigued at how inspired and energized I am when I return home.

How often have you heard:
You become like those with whom you spend your time.

I’m thinking of about a dozen or so of them with whom I’ll enjoy a welcoming hug, invigorating conversations and the experience of genuine care for others. Eventually, if I become a percentage of who they are, I will have created a life worth living. Who is it that influences you?

Seed tomorrow with wise adventures today!

Back in Beijing and enjoying even greater adventures since my husband, Curt, has joined me to explore this fine city! I giggle with delight as I watch him devour real Chinese buffets! He ingests street food all over the world that causes me to gag. I think he takes seriously the Cantonese saying:

Anything that walks, swims, crawls, or flies with its back to heaven is edible.

I feel fortunate to enjoy observing his pleasure in the food adventures without having to partake. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not the least bit picky about food. I simply think it’s beyond risky to eat something that’s been hanging in the hot sun for Lord only knows how many days, whether it’s in Beijing, Tokyo or New York City!

Seed tomorrow with wise reframing today!

Back in Thailand, working at the Renaissance Phuket (where I’m told the television show The Bachelor filmed a segment). Yum, the food is as good as I remember it, and the people as gracious as humans can possibly be.

This morning, as I was sitting on the beach, staring at the waves with thoughts of gratitude, I remembered a time in my life when I experienced traveling alone as less adventurous and more anxiety producing. Wow, how our minds shape our lives! And, a Tony Robbins statement echoed in my head:

When you’re grateful, fear disappears and abundance appears.

I’m old enough now to look back and realize how the lens of my life was coated with apprehension and limitations. If there is something you fear enough that it’s causing you to hold back, I beg you to let it go. Let the fear disappear to welcome the abundant adventures life offers everyday.

Seed tomorrow with wise celebration of diversity today!

Hello from Borneo! WOW! This island has been on my dream list for years . . . and I get to work here! The island is divided among 3 countries: Brunei, Indonesia and Malaysia. The diversity is mesmerizing.

Excavation work on the Niah Cave has uncovered implements and an ancient burial site carbon-dated to 40,000 B.C. The digs provide strong evidence that Chinese and Indian civilizations have existed in Borneo for 1,500 years; however, the influence of the Hindu, Muslim, Dutch, Portuguese, Spanish and British cultures are all strikingly visible and visceral.

Diversity is the one true thing we all have in common. Celebrate it every day!

I leave tomorrow for Kota Bharu, then travel on to Melaka, both in Malaysia, for more great adventures. Oh, to experience and celebrate a bit of the world’s magnificent multiplicity. I breathe in every adventure with immense gratitude!
