It’s hard to believe another year is about to pass. Yet, time marches forward whether or not we embrace each day. With a few days left before we hail in the New Year, let’s invest some time in reflecting and making wise choices. As Oscar Wilde wrote:

Good resolutions are simply checks that people draw on a bank where they have no account.

Let’s not have the New Year be a new start on old habits. Life is calling. We can all start on a fresh page to create a life worth living. Why not approach the New Year with the resolve to find opportunities hidden in each day? Then, enjoy!

Seed tomorrow with wise gifts today!

Christmas is around the corner. Last minute preparations, procrastinated gift wrapping and rushing to complete the “to do” list can consume our days. So, I hope we all remember to pause for a few moments and reflect upon that which is most important.

Love, generosity, compassion, patience and gratitude . . . are there better gifts?

In the midst of all the busy-ness, may we all take time to relax, soak in what’s happening around us, reflect and enjoy. Life’s moments are abundant with gifts worthy of gratitude – when we make space for them. Our presence is truly the best present of all.

Wednesday WIsdom

Seed tomorrow with wise gifts today!

Here it is, a couple weeks before Christmas and I’m back in Atlanta.  Work here is more laid back and celebratory than usual.  Storefronts are decorated, Christmas music fills the air, and the smells of evergreen and cinnamon stir the senses. I’m looking forward to getting home in time to prep for Christmas, to sit in front of the warm, crackling fire and a glowing tree to relax with those I love.  As I reflect, I’ll read this list of Christmas gift suggestions sent to me today:

To your enemy, forgiveness.  To an opponent, tolerance.  To a friend, your heart.  To a customer, service.  To all, charity.  To every child, a good example.  To yourself, respect.

May Christmas become more a state of mind than a single day of any year.  And, may we remember to cherish each day as it unfolds.

Wednesday Wisdom

Seed tomorrow with sincere exploring today!

I’m back in New Orleans, working with wonderful people in magnificent environments. My husband, Curt, joined me for the weekend, so we ate food we only seem to have here and were, as always barraged by quirky and sometimes bizarre saying and sites. My favorite appeared on our way to food as we walked to a restaurant watched on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.  A sign in the store front of a shoe repair shop in the Garden District read:

 I will heel you.  I will save your sole.  I will even dye for you.

 Cute.  Now, back to food . . .Po boys, gumbo, crawfish etouffee, jambalaya, muffulettas, soft shell crab, oysters made anyway you want them, beignets and coffee with chickory all make it impossible to remain restrained around food!  So, with the holidays approaching, it looks like another New Years Eve resolution with a strong focus on discipline!
