Seed tomorrow with wise remembering today
Our second grandson, Alexander Curtis Hopper, was born last week. Bliss, sheer bliss. I found my first words to him the same as with his big brother, Reid Thomas:
Remember . . . always remember from where you came, and what you’re here to do.
We so easily forget. Leaving childhood and becoming captivated by the human experience we seem to easily forget our divinity and our purpose. We make insignificant things matter, get oppressively annoyed with small stuff, worry about things over which we have no control, get distracted from our path with irrelevant shiny objects and find our souls yearning for more.
May this Thanksgiving be filled with gratitude for the myriad of experiences we’re offered as earthlings to embrace and savor the journey back to ourselves. May we find that return gloriously challenging, woven with lessons, and intertwined with grace. And, perhaps we can help each other remember what this is really all about.
PS: Woe is me for quoting Bill Cosby last week. Writing from a country that’s a day ahead and not paying attention to US news, I had no idea of my disappointing choice until after the fact. Please accept my apology for the sad selection.
Life is calling . . . Today’s the day . . . Make this moment matter!!
Learn Lavishly. Live Significantly. Leave a Legacy.
