Seed tomorrow with wise magic today

Wednesday Wisdom is showing up on Thursday because I completely forgot yesterday was Wednesday! I was consumed by our two precious grandsons who were in Michigan for a great adventure week that included a visit to the Henry Ford Museum, Greenfield Village Day Out with Thomas. For those of you not familiar with Thomas, he’s a delightful train with lots of train friends that little ones love. Of course, books, videos and toys follow the creation of the train.

Here’s a sample of Thomas’s literature:
Thomas: Lady, you’re a really helpful engine. Lady: And helping each other brings to life the magic in all of us.

Seed tomorrow with wise choices today

Curt and I are working in Kansas City this week. Staying in the Plaza area gives us an amazing abundance of restaurants, pubs and boutiques. Fun. Found this in one of the little shops:

Seed tomorrow with wise somewhereness today

Gloriously working in Sonoma, California this week. And, of course, we adventured out to vineyards. Bumped into this as we roamed:

Seed tomorrow with wise coping today

Working in Chicago this week, and of course, roaming the Windy City to experience as many adventure as  possible. I stumble upon these words from Virginia Satir:

Life is not the way it’s supposed to be, it is the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.

What is, is. To effectively, gracefully, and elegantly respond to what life offers requires mastery of self. So, I’ll make a note to remember to breathe inward as the outward swirls around me.

Wednesday Wisdom

Seed tomorrow with wise interest today

Yesterday, I met an interesting gentleman on a flight from Cleveland to Atlanta. As we exchanged stories from our consulting experiences, we were both intrigued by the curves and detours of our paths. One project, full of challenges and learning always led to another. Neither of us imagined ourselves doing the work we’re currently interested and engaged in.

I settled into my hotel room, opened my computer, and stumbled onto these words from Eleanor Roosevelt:

One thing life has taught me: if you are interested, you never have to look for new interests. They come to you. When you are genuinely interested in one thing, it will always lead to something.

And, the turns in the road take place. One interest, one thread of curiosity, one body of research always tends to lead to another, then another. Grateful for the reminder to stay interested, engaged and open to what’s around the next bend.
