Seed tomorrow with wise choices today
This month, both of our beautiful daughters turn a page in the story of their lives. Like many parents, their birthdays have become sacred to me. I’m completely aware of how profoundly blessed I am that they traveled through me, then offered lessons beyond my imagination. Within their busy lives, I now cherish and savor every moment we have with them. And, I do so with intent attention. Therefore, when Leslie Charles recently shared this statement, it made me weep with appreciation:
Hanging out with your grown up kids is like hanging out with the best parts of yourself.
Looking back, Curt and are honest in acknowledging the things we wish we would have done differently, the wisdom we wish we had when they were younger, the moments we would take back immediately, if we had the chance – we’re cognizant of our human imperfections. However, it only takes a few minutes with these two deeply wise, compassionate, generous spirits to acknowledge that they rose above our flaws and human errors to extract the intent of what we most sincerely wanted to offer them. If they are even a slight mirror to our essence, we breathe a huge sigh of reprieve.
Happy, Happy Birthday to our most profound teachers and examples of lives lived well.
Life is calling . . . Today’s the day . . . Make this moment matter!!
Learn Lavishly. Live Significantly. Leave a Legacy.
