Seed tomorrow with wise seed planting today

Curt and I have the luxury of working in Puerto Rico this week (including Vieques Island – Yay, us!!) Again, reading time on the airplane. The first page I open reminds me:

Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant.

Shifting focus to daily planting provides sanity and reminds us to make the most of the time we have, no matter where are at any given moment. It’s all too easy to forget to create heaven on Earth, no matter the surroundings, no matter the circumstances, no matter our frustration with what we perceive as lack of results. In this moment, let’s bury kernels and fertilize roots.

Life is calling . . . Today’s the day . . . Make this moment matter!!

Seed tomorrow with wise thinking today

Curt and I are enjoying work in Phoenix this week. Once again, roaming for adventure, we bumped into this:

Of course, I was curious about who Shawn Achor was, and found out he is referred to as an American happiness researcher, author and speaker well known for his work in positive psychology. He’s delivered a TED talk, so I look forward to watching that! In the meantime – HELLO REALIZATION!

Seed tomorrow with wise thinking today

With almost 40 hours of flights, then several ugly delays, Curt and I had lots of reading time on our way to Argentina. After our second delay, because the pilots “timed out” on the runway, the cancelled flight included our second night of the week sleeping on the floor in the Atlanta airport.

Shortly thereafter, I found myself blowing a gasket with a “service” representative who appeared to care less about assisting us with rebooking our flight. Telling myself to breathe and maintain mental discipline didn’t even come close to working in the moment. Once we finally boarded in the wee hours of the morning, I opened my book and these were the first words to greet me:

Out of clutter, find simplicity. From discord, find harmony. In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity. ~ Albert Einstein

Reframe. Rethink. Recalibrate . . . seems to work in most situations! Time to clear my mind and get ready for great adventures that await in Argentina!
