Seed tomorrow with wise framing today
As I celebrated my 67th birthday last week and took inventory of me, I came to terms with the fact that I agonizingly miss my old life . . . who hasn’t had that thought now and then?
I felt the pang of melancholy as my last contract ended that took Curt and I around the world to explore diverse cultures, experience savory and sundry foods, work with glorious, hard-working people who welcomed us in ways that were humbling and eye-opening. Over the last 39 years in business, I’ve been blessed with several contracts that have contributed to a life for which I am beyond grateful. My heart is heavy as well as excited to move into semi-retirement. So, I appreciated reading this yesterday:
New beginnings are often disguised as painful endings. ~ Lao Tzu
I approach this unfamiliar, forbidding phase of my life with intense trepidation. Although I have no interest in working the hours I used to, nor enduring the pressure of producing, I feel completely inexperienced in the next chapter. May this tender transition unfold discovery and joy of this new beginning soon – very soon!
Life is calling . . . Today’s the day . . . Make this moment matter!!
