Wednesday Wisdom

Seed tomorrow with wise words today

I re-read this last week and it was a good reminder . . .

Before speaking, pass your words through 3 filters:

  • Is it true?
  • Is it necessary?
  • Is it kind?

I’ll be the first to admit, there’s a step here that’s challenging for me, very challenging; however, that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be implemented. It simply means it’s available as an excuse.

Wednesday Wisdom

Seed tomorrow with wise kindness today

Traveling brings me great joy. Its makes me feel alive, keeps me curious, helps me learn and welcomes me to understand the world within which I am a piece of the puzzle. Experiences with people in large cities, small towns and remote villages have taught me about human magnificence.  Although governments may make us feel divided and separate, there are no borders to the human spirit, and this I have learned from thousands from diverse cultures:

Leave a trail of kindness everywhere you go.

I thank every person who has extended a kind hand and a soft heart in every corner of the globe.  I simply pray that I am the same for another.

Wednesday Wisdom

Seed tomorrow with wise framing today

As I celebrated my 67th birthday last week and took inventory of me, I came to terms with the fact that I agonizingly miss my old life . . . who hasn’t had that thought now and then?

I felt the pang of melancholy as my last contract ended that took Curt and I around the world to explore diverse cultures, experience savory and sundry foods, work with glorious, hard-working people who welcomed us in ways that were humbling and eye-opening. Over the last 39 years in business, I’ve been blessed with several contracts that have contributed to a life for which I am beyond grateful. My heart is heavy as well as excited to move into semi-retirement. So, I appreciated reading this yesterday:

New beginnings are often disguised as painful endings.  ~ Lao Tzu

I approach this unfamiliar, forbidding phase of my life with intense trepidation. Although I have no interest in working the hours I used to, nor enduring the pressure of producing, I feel completely inexperienced in the next chapter. May this tender transition unfold discovery and joy of this new beginning soon – very soon!
