Seed tomorrow with wise decisions today
In my youth I heard: Voting is a civic sacrament. That notion has stayed with me ever since.
In record numbers, many of us have already cast our ballots; however, in case you haven’t, please consider Sharon Salzberg’s words:
Voting is the expression of our commitment to ourselves, one another, this country, and this world.
Or, Susan B. Anthony’s: Someone struggled for your right to vote. Use it.
And, then there’s Plato:
One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors.
While making our voices heard at the polls and receiving the results that follow, please allow me to request that we demonstrate the character of this nation we honor and love by our respectful, patient, and safe behaviors. As public safety departments prepare for the worst, let’s revisit ourselves as the nation once held in high esteem throughout the world and let them observe people behaving their best.
Life is calling . . . Today’s the day . . . Make this moment matter!!
Learn Lavishly. Live Significantly. Leave a Legacy.
